This policy explains how data are processed for the website, virtual cellar and “The winemaker’s craft” game. Your cellar contents are not public. Hosting them in Supabase nevertheless involves technical access for administrators and service providers.

2. Data processed
To create and manage an account: email address, account identifier, authentication information and a record of accepting the terms and acknowledging the privacy policy, including version, date and adult status. The birth date entered checks adulthood in the form; it is not sent in account metadata. Supabase Auth processes the password, which is not displayed in the cellar administration tool.
For the cellar: bottle details you choose to save and optional notes. For the game when signed in: progress saved to resume your journey. Bottle details and notes can be edited or deleted from your account. The contact form processes the contact information and message you send to the house.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Account, inventory, note and progress management fulfil the requested service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Necessary security and service operation controls rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Handling rights requests and obligations imposed by law rely on applicable legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Contact messages are processed to answer your enquiry. Acknowledging this policy does not constitute consent to advertising.
4. Administrative access and recipients
Accounts, bottle inventories, personal notes and game progress are stored in Supabase. Champagne Doyard-Mahé and people authorised to administer the service have technical access to these data. The house does not routinely inspect the contents of your cellar or notes. Access may be necessary for support, maintenance, security, handling a data rights request or a legal obligation.
5. No commercial use
Data associated with your cellar account, bottles, notes and game progress are not used for marketing outreach, advertising or commercial profiling. They are not sold or disclosed to partners for these purposes. Messages sent through the website contact form are used to answer your enquiry.
6. Hosting and service providers
Account, cellar and game progress data are hosted in the Supabase project located in Ireland, region eu-west-1. Supabase provides database and authentication services. Netlify serves the website, cellar and game files. These providers also process technical data needed for their services, including IP addresses and connection logs.
The service requires processing by its technical providers: Supabase for accounts and the database, Netlify for web hosting, and FormSubmit and email services to deliver website contact form enquiries. This does not constitute selling data or commercially sharing your inventory. Supabase’s processing arrangements and possible international transfers are described in its data processing agreement and subprocessor list.
7. Photos and bottle searches
The scanner analyses photos on your device; it does not send them to Supabase or Open Food Facts. It does not retain them after you leave the scanner. Only the bottle details you confirm and save are sent to Supabase. An online search initiated by you sends the entered name or barcode to Open Food Facts, without photos, personal notes or your inventory.
Voluntarily adding a photo to a record is separate from scanning. The image is resized then stored in Supabase in synced mode, or only in this browser in “on this device” mode. Its destination is shown before adding. It can be removed from the record and included in your export; technical access and no-commercial-use rules apply to photos saved in Supabase.
8. Local storage and tracking
Storage locations, bottle sizes, sources, aromas and storage readings can be saved with your Supabase account when sync is available. The “on this device” mode, enabled by your choice, keeps these data in this browser, separately from account inventory. The local copy remains after sign-out until erased in options or by the browser; export a backup before changing devices. The service does not measure temperature or humidity automatically.
9. Retention and deletion
Account, cellar and game data are retained while the account is in use. Deletion can be requested in settings or by contacting the house. The request covers the account and associated data. Contact us if the application reports a failure or incomplete deletion. Necessary security or legal records and backup copies may remain for their retention periods; immediate erasure of every copy is not promised.
10. Your rights
Subject to GDPR conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, or object to processing. The settings JSON or CSV export contains your email and the loaded cellar inventory, including notes. For an additional copy of account or game progress data, or any other rights request, write to champagne.doyard.mahe@gmail.com. We respond within one month; a reasoned extension may apply in the cases provided by the GDPR. You may lodge a complaint with the French CNIL.
11. Local storage and tracking
The service uses technical browser storage for language, adult verification, sessions and some preferences. Application files and OCR models may be cached for offline use. The inventory is not stored in the cellar’s persistent preferences. The cellar application does not include advertising tracking or commercial profiling. Technical security data processed by hosting providers are covered by their policies.
12. Security and confidentiality
Accounts use Supabase Auth and the online service communicates over HTTPS. Service functions are intended to operate on the signed-in account’s data and do not offer access to other users’ inventories. These measures do not make the data invisible to administrators with technical permissions. Absolute security or a complete absence of incidents is not guaranteed.
13. Document updates
Documents may change as the service evolves. Substantial changes are disclosed in the application and the update date is shown. Acceptance recorded for a new registration refers to the displayed version. Previous acceptance records are not rewritten.
